WHO: Steady transmission of the virus at the global level

Michael Ryan, head of the WHO’s health emergency programme, said that the spread of COVID-19 in many populous countries was leading to an increase in new cases worldwide.
Some of this is due to increased testing, but not primarily, and the number of hospital admissions and deaths is also increasing, suggesting that the virus is spreading steadily at the global level.
